Born in Quito, Ecuador, Carlos is a knowledge nomad fascinated by learning from every encounter.
A third culture individual, he grew up in Brazil, Panama, Australia, and the United States, moving every 2-3 years up until college. He studied Mandarin & International Business at East China Normal University and graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) from Drake University, completing a double major in Information Systems & Marketing.
His intense curiosity into the reasoning and logic behind business decisions led him to data and the analysis of information. As a young professional, he’s had the opportunity to explore working in both the private and public sectors, with teams big and small, at startups, multinationals, NGOs, marketing agencies, and as an independent consultant, taking on roles to the creative and technical sides of the digital spectrum.
Curious and eclectic in his own way, his scope of interests is ever growing and currently focuses on: the uses of Big Data in the online advertising industry, practicing Norwegian and Python every day (though not together), and bulking up to 85kg.
Presently, Carlos resides in Argentina working as Data Strategist for Pulpo (An Entravision Company) and pursuing a Master of Data Mining at Universidad Austral.
